Julie Gorenc earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing degree at the University of Kansas and her Master’s of Science degree in Nursing, Nurse Midwifery at the State University of New York. Gorenc discovered the world of midwifery first as a patient. She was a practicing attorney when she decided to seek midwifery care for her first pregnancy. The experience changed her life so much that she went back to nursing school to earn her BSN and to midwifery school to earn her MS and nurse midwifery certification. Gorenc has been practicing full scope midwifery care since 2000. She provides compassionate and competent care to women throughout their life span and thoroughly enjoys the teaching opportunities that present themselves during both gynecological and obstetrical visits. While Gorenc grew up in the Kansas City area, she has been living in Lawrence, Kan., for several years with her husband, two children and numerous cats and dogs. When not working, she enjoys family time, cooking and reading. |
